Why Mecmar?
The Mecmar mobile recirculating batch grain drier has earned a reputation among farmers in Great Britain and Ireland for being durable, reliable, economical and dependable.
1
The hot-dip galvanising process delivers excellent levels of corrosion resistance. All Mecmar grain driers are extensively galvanised, including the silo structure, the loading hopper and the bottom boot as standard. The entire chassis and furnace can be galvanised for maximum protection.
2
Each range of Mecmar drier has its own purpose designed heavy duty chassis and internal subframe. The subframe that supports the plenum chamber ensures that the weight of grain is distributed evenly to the external chassis. This prevents structural movement and stress during work.
3
Stainless steel screens are used on both the outer and plenum screens of Mecmar grain driers. The 430 grade stainless steel has excellent mechanical strength and offers a high level of corrosion resistance. All screens have 1.5mm perforations at a perforation density of 33%, allowing greater airflow through the crop.
4
All wearing parts in the Mecmar grain drier including augers, auger tubes and transmissions are highly specified to increase their service life. Augers have outer reinforcement strips to protect the area of highest wear. Transmissions are over-designed to ensure a long operational life and reduce the necessity to regularly change belts and bearings.
1
Vari-pitch augers are used on both the loading auger and central auger. Using a narrower pitch at the grain pick up point then increasing the pitch ensures the grain flows uniformly along the length of the auger significantly reducing the risk of the auger becoming overloaded.
2
Riello is the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial burners and have worked in partnership with Mecmar for over 40 years. McArthur Agriculture technicians are extensively trained and experienced with the maintenance, and repair of Riello combustion units and are a UK spare parts stockist.
3
The standard automatic control panel is a hardwired system. Grain driers are a long term purchase, expected to work for over 30 years. Our control panel will stand the test of time and be as easy to maintain and repair in the future as it is today.
4
Routine maintenance is simplified on the Mecmar grain drier through its design and construction. For example, the central auger transmission can be removed for maintenance even with the drier full of grain. Wearing parts are designed to be accessible and easily replaced.
1
The power transmissions on the Mecmar have been designed to operate in exceptional conditions not average conditions. This includes transmissions on the central auger, loading auger and agitator system. Keeping the drier on top in all conditions.
2
Reliable crop recirculation delivers dependable operation. The Mecmar grain driers plenum floor, non-perforated bottom screens and agitator design keeps grain moving and drying no matter the situation.
3
In the early 1980s the first Mecmar machines arrived in the UK and were delivered to Aberdeenshire. Since then, design and development has centred on delivering dependable operation in crops in Britain and Ireland’s most challenging conditions.
4
McArthur Agriculture support Mecmar grain driers throughout Britain and Ireland. All our product support and technical staff specialise in grain driers. They have unmatched technical and practical knowledge covering the mechanical, combustion and electrical aspects of the equipment.
1
The Mecmar’s direct fired furnace is designed to minimise energy loss. Ensuring every drop of fuel you burn is drying your grain. The stainless steel furnace liner heats and cools quickly and the pressurised furnace configuration is highly thermally efficient compared to negative pressure systems.
2
The result is a smaller motor using less energy. Bigger machines can then operate on a smaller power supply, consuming less power and saving money.
3
The Mecmar delivers uncompromising performance despite reducing fuel consumption and energy requirements due to a series of innovative design features including the plenum floor, high perforation density of screens and optimised drying silo dimensions.
4
The unmatched build quality, reliable design and market leading economy result in Mecmar grain driers commanding a strong residual value further reducing the overall cost of ownership.
